The Katz Black Kat Series Knives are lightweight fixed blade knives, with the same quality and design as the knives in their premium Lion King series. The Black Kat knives have blades made of Katz Knives proprietary XT70 stainless steel, that tests out at 54-55 on the Rockwell "C" scale. With the resilience of this excellent stainless steel, it holds and retains an edge to the high standard for which Katz is known. All Katz fixed blade hunting models are constructed with a full 5mm blade thickness (almost 1/4"), which make these knives among the strongest in the industry today. The blades are hollow ground with a satin finish, and the knives have full tang construction for strength.
The illustrated Katz Black Kat Knife is a lightweight version of the Lion King. It features a 6.13" blade, made of XT70 stainless steel that is 5mm thick. The satin finished blade is hollow ground, with a 2" texture notched thumb rest for control. The Black Kat knife has a fully checkered Kraton handle, flared at the butt for balance, with a pronounced choil and a lanyard hole in the butt cap. The Black Kat Knife includes a fitted Cordura sheath. The Katz Black Kat Knife is 11" overall in length and weighs 8 ounces.
