The illustrated JA Henckels Knife set is the Four Star Seven Piece Block Set that includes a (31070-090) Vegetable Knife with 3" sheepfoot blade, a (31070-130) Utility Knife with 5" serrated blade, a (31070-160) Slicing Knife with 6" blade, a (31071-200) Chef's Knife with 8" blade, a (31076-200) Bread Knife with 8" serrated blade, a sharpening steel with round 9" sharpening area, and a solid hard wood storage block. Each of the Henckels knives features a blade forged from Friodur ice hardened high carbon stainless steel, and rat tail tang construction with a high impact black polypropylene handle that is permanently bonded to the tang. The handle is contoured for comfort, and it comes with an integral forged bolster. The JA Henckels Four Star Seven Piece Block Set is made in Germany.

The edge is formed from an extra hard steel to hold the edge, the back of the blade is formed from a flexible steel to withstand the stress of use, and the tang and handle piece are forged for extra strength where it is needed.
