The illustrated Gerber Knife is the Gerber Answer Knife that features a 3.30" part serrated tanto blade made of 7Cr17MoV stainless steel. The blade of this Gerber knife has a non reflective black Titanium coated finish, dual thumb studs and F.A.S.T. assist for ambidextrous one hand opening. The contoured black aluminum handle, 4.55" closed, has textured onlays and a notched thumb rest for secure grip, stainless steel liners, a full back spacer, a slide lock and a lanyard hole. A black metal pocket clip is mounted at the pivot end of this Gerber knife. The Gerber Answer Knife has an overall open length of 7.85", and weighs 4.90 ounces. Imported.
The FAST (Forward Action Spring Technology) is a patented blade opening mechanism developed by custom knife maker Butch Vallotton.
