The illustrated Columbia River Knife and Tool Merlin Tool is the Merlin Sport and Work Tool. This ambidextrous folding knife deployment system, designed by Michael and Baltazar Martinez, is a patented rotating sheath that allows a knife to be drawn and locked, ready to employ in a single motion. A wedge system lets the user adjust the sheath tension on the knife blade. The knife handle is held in place by wings which expand into the blade channel.
The CRKT Merlin Sport and Work Tool features nylon components with a stainless steel clip. The Merlin Tool will accommodate knives with the following parameters: blade length between 2.5" and 5.0", maximum blade thickness of .25", maximum blade width of 1.5", blade channel width between .125" and .1875". The CRKT Merlin Sport and Work Tool has a locator disk for customized carry angles, with a maximum sheath rotation of 52 degrees.
The CRKT Merlin Sport and Work Tool is 3.13" high by 2.50" wide by 1.25" deep and weighs 2.1 ounces.
