Columbia River Knife and Tool: CRKT Fulcrum Knife, Black Blade, CR-7404
The illustrated CRKT knife is the CRKT Fulcrum Knife, designed by Russ Kommer. This Fulcrum knife features a 2.75" drop point blade made of AUS8 stainless steel, .10" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 58-59. The blade of this CRKT knife has a black titanium nitride coat, and it opens with one hand via the patent pending Fulcrum Action on the handle. The Black and Blue swirl CPL composite handle, 3.90" closed, has deep blue titanium nitride coated stainless steel liners, diamond checkered stainless steel bolster and a liner lock. The patent pending Fulcrum Action mechanism was invented by knifemaker Charles Kain of Indianapolis, IN. Press the left side of the frame down with your thumb and the blade swings out 90 degrees. To complete the opening, pull the left frame closed with your finger-the blade continues to open and locks into place. A removable stainless steel pocket clip is mounted at the pivot end of this CRKT knife. The CRKT Fulcrum Knife with black blade and Black and Blue swirl CPL handle has an overall length of 6.25" when open and weighs 2.7 ounces.
CPL is a tough, hard composite-similar to that used in modern bowling balls. Each inlay will have a unique pattern.
