The illustrated Boker Knife is the Boker Medium Congress Knife that features spear, sheepfoot, and two pen blades made of carbon steel. The Tortoise Shell celluloid handle of this Boker knife, 3 5/8" closed, has brass liners, inlaid nickel silver shield and stepped nickel silver bolsters.
Celluloid is the oldest artificial material, going back to 1869. Combs, keyboards and handles for straight razors were part of the product line in those days. Even today its translucent colorful appeal makes celluloid one of the most attractive materials used on knives.
