Joe Pardue Toggle folderA friend of mine and Custom knife maker, Dickie Robinson occasionally comes into our shop here in Amarillo and we talk about making knives, building forges, and all things associated with stuff that cuts. Here a few months ago he was in the shop and began telling me about a project one of his friends, Joe Pardue had in the works. Dickie said that Joe Pardue had a really cool one hand opening knife he called the Toggle and was having it manufactured by an out side source to lower the price. Dickey asked if I was interested, and of course I was, so he said he would call Joe and have him get in contact with us. About a few week later I got a call from Joe Pardue. Now Joe is a Texas knife maker and a good old boy, when I began taking to him and heard his Texas drawl I knew I was going to like him. Some Texans have a way of talking that just lets you know that the feller is OK and that’s the way I immediately felt about Joe. He described the knives he was having built and I ordered 100 of them just on his and Dickie's description. I hadn’t even seen one yet, but I knew they would be good sellers. When the Toggle came in, we put them in our retail store and they were liked by all our customers, so we put them in the catalog and on the web site.
